Miscellaneous Debris

I've been thinking of a post with this title for over a week to present various tidbits that wouldn't amount to a full entry on their own, and in that time, I may have forgotten a third of the subject matter, so maybe I'll be rounding it out with some rambling fluff regardless, this sentence as an excellent case in point.

But that title, Miscellaneous Debris, I was sure I was stealing that, but I couldn't remember from where, so ye mighty Google to the rescue. For those of you who do recognize and remember it, hopefully you think I suck!

1. A Monday or two ago, I ventured to explore Wilbraham, which I think of as Wilber-ham, and further think of the town where Charlotte's web work wasn't quite so successful. I walked a cool, but short trail along 12 Mile River.

2. I rode some errands in Belchertown and cutting through an elementary school, I happened upon a small cluster of age-appropriate-for-the-school kids on kick scooters. They asked me to do a trick, because, well, that's what a cluster of kids asks of someone on a bike. You may have noted "errands" at the start of this paragraph, which meant a rack and bags full of junk, not exactly trick bike fare, but after I asked what they wanted to see, and they didn't have much answer, I realized kids may ask that of adults without expecting much answer. I answer kids, as a form of respect, and after pulling a wheelie with 160 degree bar rotation (good trick for the weight balance of full bags and rack), they realized maybe this particular old duffer had something more than just a bunch of junk. We chatted a few more minutes interspersed with my trying to roll a trackstand backwards, and it all left me with happy feelings for at least a portion of today's youngsters.

3. Picture worth one k of words? Nuff said.

Ok, a couple more words. A front hub now somewhat permanently lashed to the rack makes for quick, easy, and rather unobtrusive readiness to piggyback the random found-bike home, or wherever.

4. I can't think of what else right now, so maybe more flotsam and jetsam floating your way in the future. On a sea of cheese?
