Fairly Balanced

I could have transitioned from my homage to old mittens, but after the years of service they gave me, it felt appropriate to let that stand alone. Plus, it saved me thinking up the good segue, or even a bad one.

Again, no segue,
this relates to nothing here,
and I certainly make to light
of conditions in Palestine,
but this gave me a smile.

Remember, I was headed to meet Matt, whose name I remember, to run. Matt's the friend who was my companion for the accidental marathon length run a couple summers ago, and even after spending that long with me solo, he's still willing to be my friend, so you can use that tidbit to evaluate his judgement. I like the way Matt thinks, and not just because because he puts up with me.

Part way into the run, he told me about the theme for one of his runs, near work in Northampton, this past week. He headed out with a simple plan: turn on the first left, turn on the first right, turn on the first left, turn first right, and repeat. He added the rule of skipping known dead ends. He did eventually return to the same road he'd run early, but heading in the opposite direction, so there was no danger, yet, of an infinite loop, and later I realized even repeating the same section in the same direction might not loop if it was started with a different direction turn.

I'm facinated by the concept. My immediate contemplation was imagining living ones life in that left, right, left mode, but then I realized more realistically, it could truly be a viable way to take a bike tour. I could ride until I hit an infinite loop, or just gave up and headed for home. I really want to try it! Of course, the big question: do I turn left of right out my driveway? So many choices!

As anticipated,
Holland Glen was a gorgeous destination
for a run in the snow.
