One down...

 ...two or three to go.

It's been a month since the solstice and start of winter, and I just checked the thermometer outside my bedroom window. It reads -3°F. I'm happy that physical therapy didn't offer rescheduling to today when the provider needed to cancel yesterday's 8:30AM appointment. At that time, I was also happy about the cancellation. It was 7AM then, a half hour before I'd leave, and the thermometer was in the upper single digits. Yup, no apology necessary, I'll happy stayed tucked inside and ventured out to ski around 9am when the temperature had risen to just break into the teens.

Brrrr...rrrrr!

Hmm, maybe the weather deities are reading these posts and felt a challenge in my claim of acclimation. The skiing conditions were pretty nice yesterday with good glide, even when I returned home with temperatures in the twenties. It's winter, and it's even feels like it, although I'm happy that the days are noticeably longer, and the sun is heating my house more just as the outdoor temperature drops. Happily, only two more months until spring, but alas, it is three more years until the end of something else that is proving less pleasant. For now, I'll just look forward to April, even if T.S. Eliot did proclaim it the cruelest month. I do like root vegetables!
